Currently, prayers are offered at the Main Shrine, a national treasure, but the Main Shrine is actually a special area used for public ceremonies such as the Kamo Festival, and is a national treasure that should be carefully maintained as a sacred space for solemn rituals.

In recent years, the main shrine has been significantly damaged by the large number of worshippers coming and going, and it has been determined that if things continue as they are, it will be difficult to maintain and manage the national treasure that should be preserved for future generations.
It was decided to rebuild the building.

Information on special prayers and worship at Kamosha Reiden (prayer hall)

A map of the head shrine of Kamomioya Shrine, which is believed to have been created between the end of the Heian period and the beginning of the Kamakura period, shows the shrine building to the east of the Higashi-mihonmiya and north of the Mitarai pond. It was a so-called ceremonial hall where prayers, supplications, and purification rites were performed.

The building was rebuilt each time the Shikinen Sengu ceremony was held, but it has undergone many changes, including being burned down along with other shrine buildings during the Onin War.
The later rebuilt Reiden was built in the early Edo period to be paired with the Hosodono Palace, south of the Mitarai Pond.

It has been relocated northeast of the Imperial Palace building.

Furthermore, with the reform of the shrine system in the early Meiji period, the shrine was moved to the southwest of the subsidiary shrine "Hiraki Shrine".

It was intended to be a palace to replace the Kamo Shrine Palace.

During the 30th Shikinen Sengu (May 1914), a plan was put into place to relocate the Kamo-sha Shinto Shrine outside the tower gate in order to rebuild the Kamo-sha Shinto Shrine as part of the Ministry of Home Affairs' shrine building improvement project, and the Kamo-sha Shinto Shrine was rebuilt during the 31st Shikinen Sengu (May 1937). The building that still stands as the Kamo-sha Shinto Shrine is the Shikinen Sengu. Only the roof was tiled when it was relocated. The original Shikinen Sengu was the Shikinen Sengu that was rebuilt during the 20th Shikinen Sengu (May 1581), and it retains the form of a highly ancient shrine building. In 1910, it was designated a special protected building and has been preserved. This building was originally an ancient shrine hall built during the 20th Shikinen Sengu (May 1589), and it has been preserved as a special protected structure since the 40th year of the Meiji era, as it retains the form of a shrine building that is extremely ancient. However, in 1871, the Kamosha Komonsho, which was both the government office and a place of learning for Kamo Mioya Shrine, was also confiscated, and the building that served as the shrine office was no longer there. A part of the reconstructed Kamosha Shinto Palace was used as an office building for many years, but since a new shrine office was established during the 34th Shikinen Sengu (May 2015), it was decided to reconstruct a new shrine hall for prayers and supplications at the ancient location east of the main shrine. The plan for this reconstruction is to use the shrine hall from the 34th Shikinen Sengu and the removal of the main shrine's west temporary hall as the shrine hall for the shrine hall, and to build a new place of worship. The structure of the new Reiden is planned to be based on that of the Saiin Palace of the Saio Kamo. The location of the Murasakino Saiin Palace has already been clarified through the research of Dr. Tsunoda Fumiei, a researcher of ancient culture, so we will refer to this and make the "North Hall" the shrine, the "Shrine" the place of worship, and the "East Facing" and "West Facing" the East and West Reiden palaces.
